This results in substantially diminished capacity for dealing with the ordinary demands of life.  Mental illness can  affect persons of any age and occur in any family. They are not caused by bad parenting and not evidence\ of weakness of character.

MEETING SPONSOR

Group Benefits Designers, Inc. (GBD) opened its doors in 1982 with the sole purpose of helping businesses navigate employee benefits. Quite a bit has changed in the last 40 years, but we’ve found one thing remains true: when a business has fewer than 100 or even 200 employees, they often do not receive adequate service or dedicated attention and support from an experienced employee benefits consultant. At GBD, we believe all clients deserve experienced benefits consultation and advisement as well as exceptional service regardless of employee count. Our team is committed to finding solutions to clients’ needs and exceeding their expectations. We want every client to feel like they are our only client!

Presenter(s): Chris Bartnik, Lockton

A review of the key findings from Lockton’s 2023 National Survey of Benefit Strategies and Trends. The people solutions marketplace is as dynamic as it has ever been, and employers continue to balance cost management and attraction and retention objectives. We will review the results of the survey and identify what is driving benefit strategy decision making, the current and potential adoption of new market strategies, and identify key trends in benefit program offerings.

Chris Bartnik:

Chris is a Senior Vice President and the Growth and Innovation Leader for the Northeast Series of Lockton. A benefits professional for over 29 years, Chris has extensive experience in benefit strategy, plan design, procurement, implementation and administration in both consulting and corporate settings. In his current position, Chris focuses on business development and assists clients with the development and implementation of their benefit strategies. Before joining Lockton in 2014, Chris served in several insurance brokerage and corporate leadership positions.

Identifying a need in the local marketplace, Chris created the Greater Mid Atlantic Employer Benefit and Worklife Survey (2005) and the DC Metro Survey of Benefit Strategies and Trends (2015) to enable local employers to benchmark key benefit plan attributes to organizations of similar size, industry, and geographic location. Both surveys remain in existence today as national surveys for their respective consulting firms.

In his role as a benefits consultant and as a survey subject matter expert, Chris has been quoted by the New York Times, Washington Post, Washington Business Journal, Self-Insurer Magazine, and American Medical News. He has spoken on benefit related topics for a number of organizations including the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the Professional Services Council (PSC), Source America's Annual Conference, Prince William County SHRM, and the MACPA Government and Non-Profit Conference.

Chris is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University where he earned an B.S. in Insurance and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Marketing. He was also awarded the CLU, RHU, REBC, CHHC, and CLF designations by the American College.
