Every year, around 200,000 service members transition to civilian life, many of whom become valued members of the united states’ workforce. This session will discuss the benefits to having veterans as part of your workforce, and provide resources and guidance to help you successfully welcome veterans into your organization.

Vonzell Mattocks 
has assisted employers and service members, veterans, and their spouses in employment for over 10 years. He served multiple tours in the US Marines, has owned a veteran small business, and has awarded over $5M to education and workforce training initiatives to serve the National Capital region. He has demonstrated a delicate balance of serving talented veterans with employment, education, and entrepreneurship. Vonzell has made a commitment to transfer his spirit of service from the Department of Defense to northern Virginia. His passion to help people guides his strategic planning and innovative initiatives to assist the military community.

Vonzell has a Bachelor’s degree from University of Mary Washington, Fredericksburg, VA. He also has an MBA from Hawaii Pacific University, and a Master’s in Education from George Mason University.

Vonzell and his wife Nakita (Navy) currently reside in Woodbridge, and have raised 4 sons, all whom have served in the military.
