The Prince William Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) hosted its 14th Annual Employment Law and HR Conference on September 17, 2025, at The Magnoliya Grand Conference & Event Center in Manassas, Virginia. This year’s full-day event, themed “Mission HR: Cracking the Code to Workplace Success,” embraced a lively spy-themed atmosphere and once again drew record-breaking attendance. Among the amazing sponsors, and in keeping with our theme, was our ‘high clearance sponsor’ the International Spy Museum of Washington, D.C.
The Annual Employment Law & HR Conference is a signature event for the Prince William SHRM chapter, offering an accessible and affordable way for professionals to stay informed on critical legal updates and emerging HR trends. Attendees included HR professionals, business owners, executives, managers, and administrators—anyone responsible for navigating today’s complex workplace environment.
"This event is a staple in our HR community, providing vital information on the legal landscape and emerging HR trends," said Keri Purtell, President of Prince William SHRM. "Each year, our incredible board and summit committee works hard to curate an experience that benefits the entire HR community. Based on last year’s attendance, we anticipated the need for a larger venue—and we were right. It’s a testament to the importance of this event and the value it brings to our region."
This day-long conference featured engaging speakers and topics tailored to help organizations stay ahead in the ever-evolving field of human resources. Attendees also earned SHRM and HRCI recertification credits, underscoring the professional value of the event.

- HR AUDITS: Why You Can't Afford to Skip Them
