Learn how HR professionals can define transparency within their organizations and take back actionable steps to meet organizational needs.


Joan Reutter is the founder of JBR Consulting a Human Resources Consulting and Services company located in the Northern Virginia area that provides cost effective services tailored for each organization. As its founder, Joan Reutter’s goal is to carefully evaluate and present Human Resource and organizational development solutions that will contribute to an organization’s success and goals. JBR Consulting is certified as a woman-owned small business under Virginia’s Department of Minority Business Enterprise.

Joan has over 25 years of experience specializing in all aspects of human resources consulting with a primary focus in compensation. She provides consultation and services with expertise in the compensation plan design, development and implementation with an emphasis in employee pay, executive compensation, incentive rewards and pay-for-performance programs. Her clients range from small non-profits to Fortune 1000 companies. Prior to founding JBR Consulting, Joan held management and consulting positions in Mobil Corporation, Inova Health System, Buck Consultants, Alexander & Alexander and Noble Lowndes.

Joan graduated magna cum laude from Adelphi University with a degree in Mathematics. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Senior Certification Professional with SHRM (SHRM-SCP). She has served on the Total Rewards/Compensation and Benefits Special Expertise Panel for SHRM and currently serves on the board of the Prince William SHRM chapter.
