September through December is a busy time of year, both professionally and personally for many of us. Organizations are planning for their holiday parties, luncheons, back-to-school events, fall fundraising/charitable events, and it is also the exam window for those studying to take the SHRM or American Payroll Association certification exams. Federal holidays and staff requests for additional time off also affect» workload. Before you know it a new year resets with new deadlines and a new operating budget. Planning ahead and implementing a few key best practices will allow HR and payroll teams to be more successful with their compliance filing deadlines, keeping their program budget intact, and improving employee communication on action items such as open enrollment deadlines, time off leave requests, W-2 address updates, and much more.

»Importance of establishing an HR and payroll team compliance calendar for the following calendar year
»Top-level review of important federal govt/industry filing deadlines every HR manager/director should know
»Planning for and making the case for your division’s next fiscal year’s operating budget and key considerations of what should it include
»Year-end employee communication best practices, to include practical examples
»Available resources to assist in year-end planning
