Refunds for monthly meetings will be processed provided that the cancellation is submitted prior to the cancellation deadline. Any request for cancellation after this deadline and no shows will be billed.

Registrations After 8/30 or Walk-Ins will have a $10 late fee added to the advance registration fee as noted above under "Fee as of 8/31"; however, those in-transition and students will only be charged the advance registration fee.


Consortium Member Rate:  Refers to members of local SHRM chapters that we have entered in to an agreement to offer our discounted member rate to their chapter members  (Leesburg Greater Loudoun SHRM, Fauquier Culpeper SHRM).  If an ineligible individual registers with this rate, they will be billed the difference of the applicable non-member rate.

InTransition Rate:  To support HR professionals whose jobs have been impacted by an unstable economy, a discounted registration fee is available for our breakfast meetings.  Select the "In Transition" option when registering through paypal.

Student Rate:  To support individuals enrolled full-time in a HR related degree program, a discounted registration fee is available for our breakfast meetings.

This program will touch on many areas of interest regarding the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).  Whether new to the topic or a novice, you'll gain valuable insight in addressing disability related matters in your workplace.

•Learn about the interactive process and employer obligations under the ADA.

•Learn about disability related inquiries under the ADA.

•Learn about reasonable accommodations and what may constitute an undue burden on your organization.

•Obtain a better understanding of leave as an accommodation, including:

  • «How leave under the ADA interacts with other laws; and
  • «How much leave is too much leave.

 

•Learn the consequences of failing to properly comply with the ADA.

Brendan Cassidy  is an associate at Vanderpool, Frostick & Nishanian, P.C., where he has several years of experience representing companies and individuals on employment and business related matters including: drafting and reviewing non-compete and restrictive covenant agreements; drafting contracts and forms; and representing companies on complex legal matters such as wage and hour issues under the Fair Labor Standards Act, discrimination and retaliation issues under Title VII, and accommodation requests under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act.  Brendan has a Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law.
